How much are the grants?
Grants are fixed for each type of measure as indicated in the table below.
Grant approval must be in place before any purchase of materials or commencement of measures undertaken.
Grants are paid after the measures are completed and the contractor has been paid by the homeowner.
In the instance where the cost of the work (vat inclusive) is less than the fixed grant amount, the actual cost will be reimbursed.

Should Thermostatic Radiator Valves (T.R.Vs) be fitted vertically or horizontally ?
Whilst it is would be wise to seek a manufacturer's advice on this issue in relation to their specific valves, in general terms, it is often found to make very little difference.
Naturally, if a valve has a flow directional arrow shown, then that must always be observed, otherwise noise may be generated.
The argument against vertical fitting is that the thermostatic head can pick up heat from the valve body as well as radiant heat from the radiator.
Whilst this is true, in practice the user will simply set the valve to give a condition they find comfortable in the room.
This will mean that a vertical valve will simply need to be opened slightly more than one horizontally fitted in order to achieve the same room temperature. This does not mean that running costs are any higher.
